in a wierd way, i respect the early christian church for how they were able to suppress all voices and unify. the gospel itself is strange (well all of them are if you take a step back) because the stories are not part of our collective canon. the analysis by pagel was an easy read, then the gospel was difficult to decipher. a great lesson that history is written by the victors.
