Amazing story about when your past keeps coming back to find you. Very enjoyable.
An atheist's unique approach to trying to become religious by following the bible literally. For non-religious folks, this book probably helps to reinforce the belief that religion can be absurd. As a sort-of religious person, the message I got from this book was simply that the Bible should not always be taken literally. A.J. gives plenty of examples of why this is the case. This book focused on the Old Testament and, in particular, Judaism. In addition, the more outlandish rules from the Bible tended to be those the author focused on most. I would've liked to have seen a more well-rounded approach to following the Bible literally.
