I really enjoyed Watchmen, and was blown away by the amount of detail in the story. I had seen the movie first, and then decided to read "watchmen" because I figured it would answer a lot of the questions I had coming out of the movie. Which it did! The graphic novel is by far superior to the movie, but I think I liked the movie ending more. You will have to read it to know what I mean by that as I'm not giving away spoilers. :0) (I will say this, it was amazing to see the first chapter or so of the novel come to life, panel by panel on the big screen). I enjoyed the gritty feel of the story, how you don't really know who you should be cheering for. There are all these grey areas, nobodies really good or bad. You get to know the characters so well that you understand why they behave the way they do. I will say this though, Rorschach is definitely one of my favourite characters. I thought it was also very creative to have a comic story going on within the graphic novel, especially one so dark. :0) Definitely a read for adults!!

Good, readable intro to the life and times of Spinoza and Leibniz. Short summary: Spinoza was a genius and lived a spartan life in the Netherlands eating rice gruel and grinding lenses. Leibiz was a genius but was in constant pursuit of money and recognition from famous patrons. They met each other once. The author argues that Leibniz's philosophy is best viewed as a reaction to Spinozism, which he was secretly attracted to and publicly repelled by.
