This was the first book that i read that told me anything about Afghanistan. It is sad that this war torn country can't find peace and has been used by the rest of the world as a chess piece for twenty years. It was also a heart wrenching story about the separate paths of two men and their families. I was reminded that while some say that 'civilization' has progressed, most disputes that result in war are still tribal.
