Here's where my ignorance and intolerance really gets to shine. I really enjoyed the entire sword and the stone portion of the book. I managed to make it through the next couple of sections while gradually losing steam, and once it settled on Lancelot, I threw in my chain mail. Don't get me wrong (ok, get me wrong) I really enjoyed almost all of the characters (including lancelot) and most of the events should have been exciting, but the first bit was so silly and fun while maintaining a strange amount of seriousness. It really caught me, and it slowly trailed away from there.

This book is more like a folk tale. Its about following directions--Strega nona told the boy not to touch her magic pot, and he did and there was a HUGE consequence. Its a great bookf or all ages, and could be used in so many different ways
