This is a great non-fiction book for strong readers in grade 4, 5 and 6. Most of the book is fast-paced and exciting as it tells the story of President Lincoln's assassination as well as the manhunt for his killers. Also told is the story of the other assassination attempts planned or attempted that night (VP Johnson, Sec. Seward). Although I learned about Lincoln's assassination in grade school, I have never heard the story told this thoroughly before. It gives a lot of background information on John Wilkes Booth as well as President Lincoln's final hours. If you like to read about history and want to more about Lincoln's assassination, then I highly recommend this book!
