Unlike most little girls I didn't go through a horse phase, but I did love this book. If you read only one horse book, this should be your first pick. Second best is Misty of Chincoteague, but go for King of the Wind first. Oddly enough this book first explained Ramadan to me so there is another little incentive for you.
