Despite the fact that everyone now knows that it isn't really a memoir, that doesn't take away from the fact that this book is just well written. The style is a little odd and confusing at times but the story is great. I couldn't put it down once I started. He has a way of bringing you into the story and making you feel what he feels. I loved it. Couldn't wait to read the second part.

Memories of Ice is the third book in the Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson. This book follows the events in Gardens of the Moon, returning to the continent of Genabackis. All the characters from GotM are back and their story continues. This book is considered by many to be one of the best, if not the best in the series. Erikson's writing is much improved since GotM. This book is epic in every way-- the battles are insane, the magic, the races, the meddling gods, the world and its many strange mysteries, all combine to form a compelling and intriguing tale. Those of you reading this review have probably read books one and two already. Book three takes the best of those and combines them. Highly recommended.
