Just couldn't get into this novel at, even at FOUR different attempts over a period of a couple of years. Ca la vie! lol

To me, it is no accident that the cover is a gorgeous black and white photograph. This book explores the darkest regions of a serial killer's soul while at the same time detailing the determination, ambition and creativity of the people behind the Chicago World's Fair of 1893. It is the best of man and the worst of man brilliantly contrasted in one book! You will not soon forget it!
