Praise to Jeff Shaara for completing his father's work; but, unlike his father who mde me feel as if I was part of the story, Jeff seems to fall back and forth between allowing his readers to become part of the story and allowing his readers to simply be reading his story. It is extremely difficult to figure the exact difference father and son hold in the srt of story telling, especially when that story is true. After having read 'The Killer Angels' and viewing the Movie 'Gettysburg' I ordered the movie 'Gods and Generals' without actually knowing any more than this was a movie concerning the Civil War. That is how I came to locate the corresponding books. For anone who, like me, cannot learn enough about the Civil War, I would suggest the trilogy beginning with Gods and Generals.
