a great "bah-humbug" book to read

My friend recommended this book to me and said it was a good read. However, when I bought the book, I realized it was a grave mistake. I really forced myself to read this, but for months, I just couldn't get through it because of the style the author writes. The plot isn't so great and by the middle, I felt like I wasted hours trying to read this. I don't recommend this to anyone. I'm still willing to watch the Broadway, but I hope it is far better than the actual book.
