white tiger is an interesting tale, and i daresay well-written, but it didn't grab me quite like i thought it would. this isn't my first brush with tales of india/corruption/heartbreak, and the story in parts seemed more of a logical discourse on the nature of said subjects than a narrative meant to draw the reader in to the story being told. the narrator seemed kind of removed, his retelling a bit cut and dried perhaps, and for much of the tale i felt a little ambivalent about the direction it was going, despite all the foreshadowing.
I was very disappointed in this book. It went out of its way to be grotesque and disgusting in an attempt to be shocking but was really just boring.
