As a fan of the show, it was nice to find out that the show's creators put out Heat Wave to tie into the release from the show. As the consensus appears to be, and I agree, reading this book is like reading an episode of the show, just with different names, and a bit less wit. If you're a fan of the show, you'll probably enjoy the book in a meta sort of way. While probably not the most enthralling piece of detective fiction you can pick up, it has some interesting moments that you would expect from Castle, just not quite the same charm that exhumes from Nathan Fillion's protrayal of the titular character. I plan on picking up Naked Heat when it hits paperback to both see how the creators may have improved from this book, and to support a show that I enjoy.
