Not sure what to make of this book. It came highly recommended, and I have to say it wasn't what I expected. The writing is not great, but I don't know how much of that comes down to translation from Spanish. The language is often clunky. It reads to me like a teenage action adventure book. I kept seeing Daniel, the hero, as Tin Tin, and his sidekick, Fermin, as Captain Haddock. It's also an overly long book, at nearly 500 pages. That's a lot of pages to sustain tension, and would not retain the attention of a teenage audience.
