** spoiler alert ** I found this book scary as a child and my mom remembers it being told around the campfire as a ghost story. My preschooler loves reading this book though (I try to read it very matter of fact and not scary). She likes that everything is teeny tiny (small) and likes to say "give me my bone!" and yells "take it!" at the end. I think she thinks the goose wants the bone - ha ha ha. Any way- it's one of the limited kids selections at Grammy's that has survived the purgings over the years that we pulled out since we didn't bring many with us this trip and we needed a little more variety.

I do NOT recommend this book.
