I had a really hard time getting into this book. All the science talk was a little confusing and somewhat boring for my taste. :) With that said, in the end I truly enjoyed this book.

audio book I would have done 2.5 stars if I could have figured it out.

It's the 80s (OK, so an alternate 80s where Nixon is still President, and the U.S. won the Vietnam War) and the world is going to hell in a hand basket. Someone is killing off the costumed vigilantes (who, for the most part, are regular folks fighting crime, sometimes with less-than-good intentions), while the U.S. and Russians are ticking minutes closer to full-on nuclear war. Watchmen is very dark and political with lots of complex characters... my favorite being Rorschach, who is off his rocker. It took me about halfway through the book to get into it, I admit, and I saw the film version just before I finished the book. Have to admit, I liked the film's slight alteration of the story's ending better.
