I must admit that I am not a big fan of Anne Rice's writing style, but I really liked this book a lot. I think it is even superior to "interview", which I hold a high regard for too, but you have to love Lestat on so many complicated levels. Unfortunately, the best book of "The Vampire Chronicles" is also the last good one. I read "Queen of the Damned" and "The Body Snatcher" which were ok and "Memnoch the Devil" which was worse, hence I haven't read any of the others that followed.
