Bu diziyi seviyorum!

Cömert üç yıldız. Gizemleri okumuyorum çünkü en baştan "whodunit" i anlıyorum. Yorgunum. Aştım.

Charlotte Parkhurst 1860's Charlotte is orphaned at the age of 2 when the wagon her family is riding goes off the road. She lives in an orphanage until the age of 12. Her time in the orphanage is rough. She is forced to work in the kitchen with Mrs. Boyle, who has prevented her from being adopted due the fact that she needs her as a kitchen hand. When the director of the orphanage orders her to stop working in the stables and spend all her time in the kitchen Charlotte decides to run away. Verne, the stable manager, himself is a run-away slave, gives Charlotte enough money to catch a horse drawn coach and thus begins her life as a young woman pretending to be a young man in order to find employment and refuge from the dead end life she faced in the orphanage. I believe this book is based on a true story. Now I understand the cover of the book. Charlotte migrates west to Sacramento, where she earns a reputation as being an excellent coach driver. She intends to earn enough money to buy a piece of land and raise her own horses, but before that happens, she is kicked in the face by a horse and permanently looses vision in one eye. The kick also causes deformity and Charlotte chooses to wear a patch to conceal this. She goes by the name of one-eyed Charlie, and needs to earn back her reputation as a master stage driver by teaching herself how to navigate a coach with compromised depth perception.

This book is about a baby pig born week. The girl takes care of the baby pig. One day the girl goes to school, and the pig ( now grown) stays in the barn. The big finds a spider called Charlotte. Then the spider does an extraordinary web. This is a classic book.

Hmmm, well this book was supposed to be amazing, but it was okay I thought. What was all the hype about? I've read books like this that are much much better: Parable of the Sower and Z for Zacharia are great and have the same theme. I just love books or movies that are about what if the world was ending kind of thing. I will say I did like his style of writing: very blunt but emotionally powerful. If anything, the father/son relationship overcoming all odds, and hanging on to a life that seems impossible is what gets you in the end.

This book is AMAZING. The recipes are super fun and range from bake-with-your-kids easy to wow-your-friends complicated. If you know me, you know that I love baking. This book is fuel to my baking fire. Love it! My friends are constantly impressed by the cupcakes and frosting this book helps me produce. In fact, this book may be 75% of the reason I have friends...
