Heart-wrenching...Kyle's character is completely real as he struggles to recapture life without one of the people he loves. I love Kohana, Chase, and Mr. Cordoba...Also the principal's cameo...it was all great.
i never really liked christ much before i read this book. i liked st. francis certainly, and st. augustine, g.k. chesterton and c.s. lewis....but not really christ. this book is a great biography on christ, it helps you seem him as a realistic figure, not some postcard lam-o that he's usually portrayed as.
I read this book for the first time in middle school. It sparked a love for War novels and brought out a passion for humans rights for me. It shows the human side of war, not just the numbers. It is written amazing and shows you the journey of this young man and his quest to get home.
