I actually wrote Niffenegger a fan letter after reading this. I read it on a transcontinental flight and couldn't tear myself away from it (I was that ONE person who leaves their night light on while every is trying to sleep). The story is told between Chicago and South Haven, MI (two cities I have coincidentally lived in) and studies the relationship between a time traveler and -- say it with me now -- his wife. The catch is, he time travels (which, in the future, isn't the time travel we think of, jumping in a booth to be zapped and all that) and she *doesn't*. Her life moves forward chronologically. A beautiful romantic story set in the modern day with writing you'll dream about for months.
