Since hearing a lot of hype from the movie I decided to read the book first then see the movie. I loved this book, it's very seductive, constant battles on what's morally right and wrong, and very sad. When Hannan's secret was expose I wasn't really surprise it was very predictable....but all-in-all it was a good read.

Pretty heavy Phillip Roth, but it portrays his knack for story telling and delving deep inside several characters in one novel.
