While Savannah has some good quips to throw about in this book, it's not enough to offset the negatives: -- Too much info being "synopsized" for us by the author; not enough showing. -- Not enough romantic interaction with her former cop partner, who 99 percent of the time in this book shows his bad traits. -- The gay couple--who are ex-FBI--seemed-over-the top gifted and good-looking in the first book, and they don't become more human in this book (the second in the series). Similarly, Tammy, the other partner in Savannah's new detective agency, doesn't develop into an interesting character. -- Savannah and I don't have the same tastes in sweets, exactly, so the descriptions of her treats don't inspire food-lust for me. I doubt I'll bother with book number 3 in this series. Too many really good books around to bother with the "eh" ones.
