Usually I love this series, but this book is not so great. So many parts of the story and you have to wait till the end to see how the pieces fit together. I felt this book was just so-so.
I rated this 3 stars only because I don't think I'm smart enough to "get" it all. But it's a beautiful, haunting short novel in verse. Something completely different.
This is a well-written story and valuable perspective on civilian life during World War II, but definitely not one to read when you're already feeling down. Sheesh.
