If you are at all curious about Italians and their culture/habits (especially Venetians) this non-ficiton piece is awesome. This story pretty much fell into Berendt's lap when we was vacationing in Venice and then he pretty much stayed on until the book was finished.
I think it's safe to say the only reason this book even kept my attention was because I grew up and currently live near where these events took place. And of course as a teen we all heard the stories about what took place on Potato hill. Had I not know the area, rumored stories, etc. I don't think I would have given this three stars.
Yet another memoir that was really an essay.
I like this book, it actually reminded me of a 'Forrest Gump' like story. He accomplished many great things in his life, despite having Asperger's. I always enjoy reading memoirs and getting in the heads of others, this was another good one.
