Love all the comments about how bad Dick's prose style is--welcome to the genre! There have been two pkd novel-to-film adaptations I actually liked: this (-> Bladerunner) and A Scanner Darkly. (I also liked Minority Report but have no legitimate explanation as to why.) The Bladerunner comparison is an odd one because, while the film does a great job of capturing the setting, it deals with a wholly different set of themes.
