I really enjoyed this book. Don't know if it was the timing of it or what, but it totally hit the spot. The way McEwan writes is so expressive without being overwhelming and so controlled. He jumps from personal feeling to outward description so fluidly, in a story rich in both. I was totally drawn into the story. The unease and tragedy that haunts everything the characters experience in there private stories coupled with the overshadowing calamity of the war is so powerful. Basically just a great story.
Wow. This book was amazing. The horrors of the Holocaust really came out.
