best series I have ever read! I am constantly reading them over and over again. That, to me, is a good book.
I really liked this book. It was a great, intriguing read! It kept me interested the entire time, and I think that it would keep students interested as well. There's a lot of allegorical aspects to this book, and I think that it would be great to start teaching analytical skills for students. I am not sure how old of an age group would be appropriate for this book, and that it depends on the maturity of each individual student. I would have this in a class library for grade 4 and above. Something that I really liked about this book, that not many novels do, is the fact that not every single character had a name (well they did, but the speaker didn't remember them, or care to learn them) For example, the girl from district 5 was simply referred to as Fox Face. I liked this, as I often have trouble distinguishing between characters, particularly ones that are similar sounding, looking, or start with the same letter. I think that children also have a problem with this too, as a lot of times the young children I associate often forget names rather easily. The descriptions of people rather than the names often have a better visual impact too.
Testing out some vintage books... Silly cover!!!
