First off I just have to say I loved the cover of this book. That dress is beautiful. This was such a heart wrenching story. I felt sad and mad for the women in this book and will never understand how people can think that people can be your property. This story shows what monsters slave owners were. My favorite part of this book came at the end when Lizzie talks about what she will teach her daughter on page 287. It was just such a powerful book.
