This book does not know what it wants to be. Also, it is no more than a lengthy first chapter of some longer piece, as all it did was introduce characters. Nothing happens. It hints at something . . . mystical? but only at the very end, and that doesn't seem to be picked up in the next book at all based on the excerpt included at the end of book 1. SNOOZE. Will not read another in the series.
