This is one of those books that reminds you how smart people were before what we consider the modern era. One of my favorite parts of the book talks about how if you capture a city, you should try to cause as little casualties as possible. One, because you don't want to create mass public unrest and two, because you want to take prisoners in order to creat cheap laborers to rebuild the city.
