I think everyone should read this book. It is the story of a 50 year old Harvard professor who gets early onset Alzheimer's, told from her point of view. It is very informative and lets you see the impact of Alzheimer's from several angles: the children's, the caregiver's, the patient's. It gives a true picture of how other people respond to those who have this disease, and while it does all this, it tells a heart-warming story. One of the chilling moments was when Alice thinks to herself that she would rather have been diagnosed with terminal cancer than Alzheimer's. Me, too. I'm glad I read this and glad Lisa Genova decided to self-publish it.
