I just couldn't get through this book! It was not for me.

Was a little disturbing. I'm open-minded but I like my sci-fi to be about sci-fi, not some drug-induced trip through children's stories and incestuous sexual intercourse.

This is a great book!! I had a different picture of how it would be from reading what it was about. . .but it exceeded my expectations! A page turner that you won't want to put down. . .and at times SERIOUSLY can't!!!

I'm glad I read this on my way to being a Pynchon completist. The detective novel is not my favorite sort. Every once in a while a paragraph would come along that delighted me, but about halfway through the book I realized I had only a very vague idea about what the plot was. I think that was fine, as most of the characters seemed to be in the same position, and the narrator was stoned a lot of the time.
