I finished reading Rohinton Mistry's Swimming Lessons last night at 12:40am. It was a B+ collection, with Jhumpa Lahiri's ponderous sensibilities and poetic details. He's got more humor than Lahiri (there's a story in there about an Indian immigrant who had trouble moving his bowels) and plenty of strange but sombre imageries. But you might like it. It's a quick read. Beware of the last (and titular) story, though: heavy-handed and preachy as hell, it's the worst story in the collection.
