Emily is the type of girl you can relate too. She's unsure of herself, tends to copy the people she's around, and undergoes a change in one summer. For me, I loved the inclusion of art in this book; although there aren't any illustrations like in Poseur (another excellent book). This book also demonstrates a struggle to find individuality. In the middle, it seems as if Emily might have gone to the other end of spectrum, being too drastic in dropping old friends and relationships. However, in the end, Emily finds the right balance, and there's hope that the other "relationship" (*wink wink*) will work out.
