The second book in an excellent trilogy. Cowritten by Raymond E Feist and Jenny Wurts, this fantasy novel is all about the political manouvering of a young female clan leader to ensure the survival of her house. Throw in magic, insectoid allies and people chopping other people into bits with swords and you've got me hooked. The empire is based loosely on Korean culture (honor, decor, etc) which gives it a different feel from other books of the same genre. Anyway, too tired to write a meaningful review. I'll just say its damn bloody good. If you like fantasy novels, you'll like this.
