I must admit when I first started to read this book I found it weird and I didn't really like the way it was written either. The only reason I decided to read it was because I wanted to know about the forest of hands and teeth. I didn't stop reading it though and I'm glad I didn't because the book got better and the writing I didn't notice as much as when I read the first chapter. I think this book must be the first book I have read involving Zombies. I think the book was written really well, of course once I got past the style of the writing. The romance between Travis and Mary was sweet. The ending sucked.

Daniel Silva's books are ALL must reads. Period. This one, if I remember correctly because it's been awhile, features an ex-CIA agent who is sent to Ireland to get to the bottom of the Northern/Southern Irish terrorist acts, which are heightened during what is called "The Marching Season."

Read this one on a friend's suggestion and really enjoyed it! I'm not much of a sci fi girl, but this was pretty low-key. I thought the author did an amazing job of conveying the intensity of the darkness. I watched the movie after reading the book and as I suspected there was just no way they could ever convey how oppressive the darkness was. It was written so well that I got panicky a few times when they experience blackouts and such. Anyway, great read. I'm anxious to start the next book in the series! And I'm encouraging my 11 year old to read it. I think he'll really love it!
