I liked the growth of the characters in this story. it was a good read but got dull in some parts of the story. but it is an important part of the series.

The first thing I've read by Bolano where I was really engrossed in the reading. Possibly because it wasn't all doom and gloom. The three character perspective kept it interesting. The pace was good and I enjoy a convoluted murder mystery pepper by 'romance'. In the sense that all the despair and longing stemmed from the relationships that formed.
