All Souls kadar büyük değil, ama yine de güzel bir okuma.
I've been wanting to read Garcia Marquez for years and finally chose this as my first of his books, and after this I am sure to read more. The characters in this book amaze me. They are at once so real and yet so far-fetched, and not just the main characters but every character that makes even the briefest appearance. That along with his witty phrasing, his keen insights about love and humanity and aging and everything else, totally captivated me throughout my read. And even up until the last five pages I wasn't sure how it would end though I love the way it did. This is an absolute classic and a must-read.
I read this while living / working in Chicago at the recommendation of a coworker. I especially liked the history of the world's fair - particularly the architects and the logistical difficulty of what they were trying to achieve. The history of the serial killer was definitely sensational (in the literal sense), though not really my favorite style (rather gruesome), but it was interesting to have the two stories weave together. Great writing.
