I have finished this book. It's a good book and I think the movie will be pretty good. It's a good story and I enjoy the description and emotion very well written. I feel sad for the characters and yet I enjoy learning about the Indian/Hindu lifestyles. I think the author gave a good look at what it's like for any immigrants to move to America, assimilate, grow and learn in the culture. It was interesting to see how Ashima and Ashoke tried to raise their children to be bi-cultural and how the new generation resisted.
