There is a huge gap in time between the publication of the first three volumes of Foundation stories and this novel, and it shows. But the 1980s were good to Asimov fans, as he had this renaissance period that produced two very solid sequels to both his Foundation stories and his Robot Series. Foundation's Edge was the first of these four novels. It's been long enough since I read it that I don't remember it well and will have to write a better review after a reread some day. Suffice to say that it's got another dynamic hero (there seem to be an infinite supply of these in the fall of the Galactic Empire) and another twisty-turny junction in the Seldon Plan.
